It goes without saying that until the elevator problem is solved, this hotel has to be considered a difficult stay. The staff is aware of the problem and you can tell they're tired of taking the brunt of the complaints that must continue all day and night. Also, in a major downtown hotel one expects in-room coffee. Taking a very long and frustrating elevator ride to and from your room for a $5 cup of okay coffee is not a plus.

The bathroom drape smells like an old molded rotten stinky piece of S!!! Longer waits with elevators

Park Central made our stay feel like we were at home. Awesome location, great rooms that were very clean, the doormen were amazing, and the Concierge was ver kind and gave us great advice. The front desk staff, although we only interacted with them 3 times could have been nicer, felt like we were a bother to them. We requested a fridge and it was brought up tonl our room right away, thank you!! The elevators are very frustrating because of how slow they are and only two worked. Would definitely stay here again in a heart beat!!!

Not enough elevators. Air was out in our room and we had three visits trying to fix it and had to wait until the next day to get a new room.

Missing one elevator all week. Used stairs regularly to go down and up. 100 stairs up and down Electronic phone door system did not work. Music outside was in poor choice and too loud Ice machine broken.

Great location; walking distance to Central Park and 5th Ave.

The housekeeping service was very good and the room was clean. The elevator service is utterly miserable in this hotel - most of the time we had to wait for half an hour for the elevator. Moreover a front desk night manager suddenly called the room at 5am in the morning with a threatening undertone since they forgot to take credit card details for one of the two rooms I had booked.

Only two elevators working at a time for the entire hotel, which was very busy. Elevators were so small it would take 15-20 minutes of waiting just to get to the 7th floor. Door to the bathroom didn’t open all the way (blocked by toilet) only one mirror in room with no lighting or outlets. No fan in bathroom. Staff was friendly and room was cleaned however the elevator situation was almost unbearable. Took the stairs several times. Bathroom was so small and the cheapest toilet paper and soap was provided. For being a 4 star hotel, the bathroom, mirror, lack of outlets, and broken elevators, I don’t recommend staying here. 4 stars hotels are supposed to be better than this. Do not recommend staying here.

Only one elevator was working for the entire week, leading to waits as long as 5 minutes. The "facilities fee" charged at checkout was an insult in light of this very annoying situation.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the hotel, which had a friendly & welcoming atmosphere. And this was most apparent with the our fellow guests when we were continually lined up & waiting for the one working elevator. I was impressed that everyone was civil & polite & just dealt with it!

It was not to expensive being that it’s New York.

The property was dated and the renovations were ok but this building was old so more attention to the little details would have been great, like replacing floor boards and doors that had previous water damage and better ventilation especially in the hallways. Adding a minifridge, microwave and coffee set up in each room would be a major plus. Other than that, the location was excellent! Nice walk to Times Square, local deli shops, shopping places and other good eats!

Lovely hotel in a perfect location within walking distance to Central Park, the Theater District and Times Square. Wonderful service, nice lounge, and grab and go for a quick bite. Would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed the convenient to the staples of NYC.

Three words: ELEVATORS, Luggage Stand

Although the hotel was nice and clean, we stayed for 7 nights, not once did the elevators work properly. There was only one working elevator for a full working hotel. This was never addressed, there was no sign of work being done to remedy the problem. We were on the 4th floor and out of the 7 days we stayed we used the elevator maybe 5 times. This last time having to wait over 10 minutes for the elevator in order to check out and bring down our luggage. When I chose this hotel, I picked it for its location and the convenience of Continental breakfast being offered as advertised in Orbitz. Once we got there we were informed that Continental breakfast was not even an option. The safe in my room was not working. I reached out and informed housekeeping, they were to send someone up within 30 minutes, I waited for close to an hour and no one showed.
